We specialise in experienced road riders who have little or no off road riding experience. We do not mix groups. We aim the ride at the least experienced riders level. The weather also plays a big part in the selection of the route as when it is wet the riding can be more difficult. We will mix beginners with other level of rider as long as all riders are friends and understand that the ride will be a novice ride.
We usually ride from about 9 am to 4pm, stopping 11am for a coffee stop and about 1pm for an hour lunch break. Occasionally, this varies according to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
The maximum hire bikes in a group is six, but if you have riders with their own bikes they are welcome to tag along. The total group size is eight plus the guide.
The guides will generally ride one of the hire bikes, if available or they may ride their own bikes KTM 250 exc.
We have many years experience converting road riders to off road. So although we are not trained coaches, we can give you plenty of help and advice so you will be able to enjoy your ride.
If you hire a bike with us, you will be offered a free night B&B and if you ride two days, you’ll get two nights. The riders flat sleeps six at a push but is perfect for four. If you prefer, you can use one of the pubs near us:
The riders’ flat has an en-suite bathroom, with towels and bedding, plus tea and coffee making facilities. Plus a full cooked breakfast is provided.

All bikes must be an enduro type with a quiet silencer with the baffles in and be road legal. We will not accept a MX, motocross bikes even if it they are road registered.
We try to keep the group size to a maximum of 6 riders plus guides.
We are on hand to help and the guide will carry some extra spares but riders should carry basic requirements for their bikes. If we can’t get the bike going, we will offer you a tow or you can arrange your own recovery.
Trail riding is enjoying the countryside on your bike, riding the tracks and trails. We show respect and slow down for all other countryside users. Much of our riding area is farmland and shooting estates. We work hard with farmers and gamekeepers to ensure a good relationship. The guide will make sure gates are closed, riders stay on the trails, and do everything in their power to ensure that riders enjoy the ride. Then everyone’s happy.

We usually aim to start about 9am, and and finish when a group requests but a fit group could be riding till 6pm. Once the clocks go back, we aim to finish before it gets to dark.
The day is a mixture of trails and roads, but in our opinion there is just enough road for a breather before riding another trail. There are no periods longer than ten minutes on the road before another trail and mostly they are much less.
There is a garage one mile from our base and we stop there first thing. We stop to refuel at lunch time generally after between 45 and 60 miles. If you ride a 2 stroke that you add oil to the petrol, you should carry enough oil to mix three tanks full. When we stop for fuel, it is a good idea to fill your tank to the top every time. That way if others have fuel issues, then we can we can keep riding instead of heading for home.
If you use one of our local B&Bs, we can meet you there in the morning and drop you off after the ride. If you stay in a B&B further away, pick up can be arranged.
We are one hour west of Birmingham, near Welshpool in Powys – on the edge of the Berwyn mountains.
You will need to bring your own adventure bike, and it must be road legal.
Your bike will need to be fitted with at least 70/30 all terrain tyres in summer and 50/50 all terrain tyres (TKC80, etc.) in winter. Also, we require you to wear a good quality well fitted helmet, decent gloves, and off road motorcycle boots with ankle protection. We also recommend knee and body protection, as well as goggles and the right clothing for the changeable weather conditions. Drop us a message or give us a call if you have any concerns.
That’s always a possibility when riding off road, or even on road possibly. It’s part of the risk, but it is rare that it happens and when it does the damage is usually minor. Of course, we won’t push you out of your comfort zone, and we always do our best to make sure all our customers and their bikes return unharmed.
No. You can ride a Triumph, Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Ducati, BMW.
We try to keep the group size to a maximum of 6 riders plus guides.
If you have a puncture or breakdown and are equipped for a repair, we will do our best to help you fix the problem. If you are not equipped for a repair, we will help you recover your bike to the nearest tarmac road – from there it is down to either yourself or your breakdown recovery service to transport your bike. Trail riding with us is a group activity and a team effort – we will not leave you sitting by the side of a trail on your own.
BMW GS1200
Continental TKC 80 on the adventure bikes.
We do not hold a coaching qualification. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t offer you the benefit of our years of experience.
