PLEASE LEAVE ANY FEED BACK YOU HAVE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE.

The Berwyn trail is a very enjoyable ride starting at Llanymynech twisting northwards towards Oswestry and on to Llangollen.  Then turning south west to take in the awesome Berwyn mountaints before a quick loop down to the beautiful lake Vyrnwy.  This is a breath taking wilderness, that must be seen on a dirt bike.

What a great lane, tough dry, mega tough wet-hope you get a dry day!

Steve strung some great trails together, including what he called “the rabbit hole” never rode anything like it. Lunch was in a lovely pub over looking the river Dee then off back up the valley, a full 8 hours of riding mixed terrain. Loved it.

We had a fantastic day out.It started well with the full english breakfast and got better. A great variety of trails that were challenging and fun to ride.

Myself and a mate travelled down from Aberdeen for a couple of days riding with TRUK in North Wales. The location was perfect - surrounded by scenic trails - and the rider’s flat ideal for recharging after a long day. The quality of riding and time in the saddle was the best value for money you’ll get anywhere. Steve quickly got a handle on our skill level and headed for trails to suit that were challenging but enjoyable. Great crack! 10 out of 10 all round.”  Scott, Aberdeen - Sep 2011

Trail Riding UK just spent the weekend in Welshpool with this company. fantastic weekend, good riding, good food, and great company, and at a great price. trailridinguk operate all over England. you can hire bikes or just have a guide at very reasonable prices if there are 4 or more of you. where we stayed in welshpool they have a little riders flat which sleeps 4 with tv and shower, you get a full cooked breakfast £20 a night. and 2 days guide was £65 each. have a look at the website Trail Riding UK offer guided trail riding and green laning in the UK with bike hire and kit - TrailRidingUK.com

One discovery I have made is a super setup near Welshpool .  Steve who runs it is ex Military and the planning and set up reflects it (Probably even to Para standard Rick !).  I’ve done my usual go as a solo a couple of times, but would love to share a day out with you guys.

http://trailridinguk.com

There is a great bunkhouse at his place, and a legendary cooked breakfast.

I am hoping I can tempt you guys and your team for a Friday or Saturday ride, arrive the night before and shoot the breeze (and beer) then 120M of riding. Prices are very reasonable, and Steve is a good company, - and the alter ego to Colin in terms of positivity !

Steve also does big days out in Derbyshire and elsewhere - there is talk of a 250M day out in Derbyshire for the hardened!  - Could we rise to the challenge ??

Be great to see you, and hope we could get a date together before this mild weather disappears.

Great couple of days riding.  Half of our group were complete beginners (including me) but by the end of two days we were confidently tackling the trails that Steve selected.

Accommodation is good and the cracking breakfast really sets you up for day.  Also it’s in a good location close to a friendly pub for an after ride drink.

Hello Steve - Hope you are well - just a few words to thank you for a
great days trail riding - we didnt know quite how we would get on - all
4 of us being experienced riders but you took us on some challenging
trails and we all had a brilliant time - your relaxed attitude was
brilliant - even when we had 2 punctures to repair it all went well -
all I can say is thankyou very much and we hope to see
you again. - regards Nick Archer.

Our group of four novices woke up to a full English breakfast having made use of the ideal accommodation provided.
We were supplied with great kit and great bikes. An awesome days riding followed thanks to Steve’s detailed knowledge of the areas lanes and trails.
We all had a fantastic 24hrs thanks to Steve and will be booking again soon.
Thanks again!

A friend and i recently partook in one of your Novice days. Having not thrown a leg over a motorbike for 14 years i was nervous about coping with the day. My fears were unfounded and after a tentative start I hugely enjoyed a challenging and very rewarding introduction to green laneing. We will be coming back!

What a great time we had!!!!!
Met Steve, our man from TRUK, on the Friday night - top man,  dropped bags off and went straight to the Horseshoe Inn 300m down the road for great beer and food.
Great nights sleep-in between the snoring- and started the riding day with a fantastic full English, perfect.
Got set up using all Steve’s gear which was spot on for us and checked the bikes out.
Steve ran through the do’s and don’ts and gave some great tips so as to enjoy our first proper try at off road biking.
We clocked some 80-90 miles using both road and off roads byways, stopping for lunch in Carrog near Llangollan.
Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of trying this type of riding out, especially for the first time, like us.
Thanks again Steve, and to your wife, who I’m sure you couldn’t do without!!!!
We will be back!!

I had a couple of great days with Steve. I’m a complete novice and by the time I was done I was a competent dirt bike rider. Screaming through the Welsh valley was a great experience, topped off with locally sourced Welsh lamb stew for lunch! The whole day was an enjoyable experience from start to finish and Steve made me feel very comfortable.

Would definitely recommend visiting!

Thanks Steve, thats the third TBUK tour and another excellent couple of days riding for our group. The trails and green lanes on the Isle of Man exceeded our expectations.
The guides Alan and Mark were first class also, great crack and a superb knowledge of the IOM’s very bike friendly green lanes.
The accommodation also deserves a mention as it was again excellent and suited our group perfectly with great food, great rooms and perhaps more importantly after a hard days riding, a great bar!
Well done to all involved and we shall be in touch again soon..

The riders flat was perfect accommodation, the full English breakfast was great and the hire bikes where in excellent condition (loved my 40cc KTM). We will be making the long old drive from London real soon for another great day out.

Had a fantastic two days of riding.  The countryside is wonderful and Steve is a great guide.  We had a group of mixed abilities but everyone had a great time.  It was nice to have a full day out with varied terrain.  The riders’ flat is also great, inexpensive accomodation.  This was the highlight of our three weeks in the UK.

One of the most fun weekends I have had in a long time.  Great riding, great guiding.  Fantastic trail after fantastic trails through a beautiful area of the British Isles.  Why would anyone want to go anywhere else?

Steve has a great set up - good bikes and facilities with easy access to the trails.  A perfect balance of gentle instruction and just letting you get on with it and learn the hard way!  Did not expect it to be as tiring as it was…

Could not recommend this more, and I will definitely be back.

Just got back from a great couple of day’s and wanted to say thanks for such an amazing experience Steve!

Myself and a Phil have had the most amazing time riding with you. It’s really given me the “bug” for trail riding now! The riders flat was spot on, Breakfast is fantastic and we was more than happy with the bikes we hired from you as they semed to be very well maintained and capable of a lot more than I was.

The trails you took us on was absolutely spot on and you struck a really good balance to keep us both happy all day. We didn’t want to come home this morning I’d have quite happily gone out again!

Also the pub across the road really deserves a mention lovely staff and local’s and the food was out of this world!

We will definitely be back for more of this with you in the near future!

Thanks again

We always have a great day riding with TRUK and will be going with them again and again! Steve is a great guy and his bikes are well maintained - so you don’t need to argue over who ends up with the wonky bike! Welshpool area has loads of terrain from dirt tracks up to more challenging sections, well recommended by my friends and I.

Thanks for a great couple of days riding Steve.

I can thoroughly recommend TRUK for anyone fancying a go at trail riding, brushing up on their skills & experience, or simply wanting to ride in this beautiful part of the world. The operation Steve runs is without fault. Excellent security, changing & drying facilities, breakfast & that’s before you go out riding. Went home with a clean bike too, which makes all the difference after two days riding & a couple of hours drive.
As for the riding, we were a group of four (+Steve) with a mix of riding experience & ability. He managed to strike the balance of riding to keep us all challenged without going completely over our heads. The route all flowed well (as opposed to lapping a small loop) & covered a variety of terrain.
This is a great value weekend away for those of a ‘knobbly’ persuasion. Do yourself a favour and make the most of Steves knowledge, skills & patience! 5*

Back again soon,

Rich

A mate and I hired bikes from Steve, and Steve guided us on a getting on for 100 mile day with lots of variety of riding around his Welshpool base. We were on the look out for a quick paced challenging weekend as we are a intermediate/experienced group and I’m glad to say we were not let down in any way. To start with I was not sure about the amount of lanes in the area as a lot have been closed across the country but happily it seemed like every road section just lasted a couple of minutes and we were back on with some cracking trails straight away - Great! Also there are some very tricky climbs to pit your self against along the way if you wanted and the private land use was designed very wisely to sharpen any areas of your riding you want to improve. All in all it was Great riding, Breakfast, accommodation & banter all organised by a genuine bloke. Have no fear get it booked!

As this was our first time off road we were all a bit worried, not only about riding in the mud but about getting on to the bikes. However with your instruction and selection of lanes we were all soon comfortable on the bikes and looking forward to the next challenge.
I am sure we will be back for some more fun on the lanes of Welshpool.

Steve
What an excellent instructor and a brilliant bloke with the
patience of jobe.

4 novices set off from the Sunderland area at 3am.
Steve had a stonking breakfast ready for us at 07.45, he even remembered the hash browns

we were issue with 1st class equipment (my bike the little honda 230cc? was just right)

There then followed a thrilling, exciting, frightening, exhausting, fun fun fun, never laughed so much time, which was over all too quickly (although we were knackered)

The accomadation was ideal, as we lay on our beds with a beer going over the day, regaling our exploits, each time adding slightly more to the already unbelievable feat of skillfully daring trailriding.  And then laughing until our sides ached.

These great feats will be written in tablets of stone and go down in local folk law, alongside alien abductions and the woman who gave birth to a serpent.

A night on the town followed, drinks, night clubbing, beautiful women on each arm, (then I woke up), to another wonderful breakfast from steve (who forgot the beans) the only “blot” on his copy book.

Then it was time to set off back up North.  We drove 465 miles and the experience provided by Steve was worth every one of them.

We went down there as boys and came back as MEN.

But as Arnie(the terminator)used to say “I’ll be back”.

Cheers for that Steve, thanks mate

The lanes were best I ever ridden, scenery was incredible, accommodation was exactly what was needed and breakfast spot on. We all agreed you were a great guide - always willing to help, up for a laugh, not too cautious or… like some boring TRF blokes! Everything exceeded our expectations and was run like a (British) military operation - funny that!

I’ve joined your facebook group and will put something on the KTM forum as well. Cheers for the video - lasting montage of an awesome weekend of riding!
